What Academy Hub is, and what it does.

A plain guide for players, parents, coaches and the people who run academies and clubs.

In short: Academy Hub is a private website for a basketball academy or club. Players open it on their phone to train at home, see where they’re up to, and get feedback from their coach.

Each academy or club gets its own hub with its own name, colours, sign in link, players and content. Nothing is shared between them. There is no app to download. It works in the phone’s web browser.

Who it’s for

Everyone signs in to the same hub, but each person sees what fits their role.

Players

Train between sessions

  • Sign in with your name and a 4 digit PIN.
  • Follow the home plan, then log it in under a minute.
  • See your stage on each part of your development path.
  • Upload a clip and get a short cue back from your coach.
  • Your profile is private. Only you and your coach see it.
Parents

Know what’s happening

  • You give consent the first time your child signs in.
  • You choose whether video uploads are allowed.
  • The home plan shows what to expect each week.
  • There are no public leaderboards and no comparing players.
Coaches

Coach from anywhere

  • Sign in with your own username and password.
  • See each player’s workouts, clips and stages.
  • Leave one short cue on a workout or a clip.
  • Move players up a stage when they’re ready.
  • In a club, you only see the players on your own team.
Head coaches and club admins

Run the whole hub

  • Follow a 6 step setup when the hub is new.
  • Write the playbook, path, skills and info in your own words.
  • Switch off any section you don’t use.
  • Add coaches, teams and players, and print PIN cards with a QR code.
  • Hand teams to new coaches each season.

What’s inside

Every hub has the same parts. The academy or club fills them with its own content, and can switch off what it doesn’t need.

Home plan

A short workout players do at home, step by step. When they finish, they log it, and the coach sees it straight away.

Development path

The parts of the game a player is building, such as ball handling, defence or shooting. Each one has stages with what to do and a short cue. The coach moves each player up when they’re ready.

Playbook or concepts

Plays and ideas with a video and plain notes, written by the coach. Clubs call it the Playbook. Academies call it Concepts.

Skills

Drills grouped by type, each with a video, key points and how to practise it.

Video clips

Players upload a short clip. It stays private to the player and their coach, and the coach replies with one cue.

Private profile

Each player’s workouts, streaks, badges, stages and coach cues in one place. Nobody else in the hub can see it.

Values

Players pick the five things that matter most to them in basketball, and what each one looks like in action.

Info

News, session or training times and places, and the academy or club rules.

A normal week

This is how the parts work together.

  1. The coach sets the work

The home plan, the path stages and any new plays are already in the hub.

  2. The player trains at home

They open the hub on their phone, follow the home plan and log it when they’re done.

  3. The player sends a clip

If their parent has allowed video, they upload a short clip of their shot or a skill.

  4. The coach replies

The coach watches the clip and leaves one short cue. The player sees it next time they open the hub.

  5. The player moves up

When a stage is done, the coach moves the player to the next one. The player sees it on their path.

Academy or club

Both get the same hub. The difference is how players and coaches are organised.

Academy

For private academies and trainers

  • One head coach, plus any coaches they add.
  • Optional groups, such as a Tuesday squad.
  • Concepts and Academy info.
Club

For clubs with several teams

  • A club admin runs the hub and sees every team.
  • Teams, each with their own coaches.
  • A team coach only sees their own players.
  • Only the club admin changes the shared playbook, path and info.
  • A new season step renames teams and hands them to new coaches.

Privacy and safety

  • Parent consent first. Players can’t use the hub until a parent or guardian has filled in the consent form.
  • Video is optional. A parent chooses whether clips are allowed. Clips are kept in private storage.
  • Private by default. Only the player and their coach see a player’s profile, clips and cues.
  • No comparing. There are no public leaderboards between players.
  • Separate hubs. One academy or club can never see another’s players or content.
  • Coaches only see their own. In a club, a team coach sees only their own team’s players.
